A site is only useful if you can use it. Here is what we have built in, what is still missing, and how to tell us when something doesn't work.

Our commitment

We are working toward conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA across modernyogi.co. We are not perfectly there yet — but we test, we listen, and we improve. This page describes the state of things as of the date above, and is reviewed at least twice a year and after any significant change to the site.

Modern Yogi is based in Ontario, and we treat the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards as the practical floor — they cover web content, customer service, and the right to file a complaint without retaliation. If a barrier on the site keeps you from doing something you wanted to do, the report path is below; if you would prefer to escalate, the Ontario Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility accepts complaints directly.

What's built in

  • Every page is keyboard navigable, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
  • Pages are structured semantically so screen readers can move through them in a sensible order — headings, landmarks, and lists are used as intended.
  • Body type meets WCAG AA contrast against the page background. Secondary type meets the minimum for large text.
  • We respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting. Animations and transitions are turned off when your operating system requests it.
  • Form controls have visible labels and accessible names. Buttons describe what they do, not how they look.
  • Images that carry meaning have alternative text. Decorative images are marked as such.

Where we still fall short

We would rather be honest about this than pretend.

  • Some product photography does not yet have full descriptive alt text. We are working through the catalogue.
  • A few older PDF documents are not yet tagged for assistive technology. These are being re-exported.
  • Our checkout has been tested with keyboard and VoiceOver; it has not yet been audited end-to-end by an external accessibility specialist. That audit is planned.

Reporting an issue

If something on the site doesn't work for you — your input method, your screen reader, your colour preference, your browser, anything — please write to contact@modernyogi.co. Tell us what you were trying to do, what happened, and what assistive technology you were using if any. We aim to respond within five business days and to address structural issues within thirty days where possible.
